For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2015 Posts: 34 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2015 Posts: 34 | I have been restoring early ( 1956 to 1962)Corvettes for many years and decided to try something different.
I have purchased a 1941 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup. The truck is in remarkable condition. It is as original as one could hope to find after so many years. The plan is to restore the truck keeping it as original as possible. The truck runs and drives.
My problem is quite sinple: I know less than zero about these trucks!
After buying the truck I came to realize that the differential gear ratio is such that it will pose a problem when driving the New Jersey highways.
I would like to change out the rear to a higher gear ratio such as a 3:55.
Have any of you undertaken this task? If so, I would love to hear from you as to what is involved.
Thanks, Ed
