I was having trouble with my master cylinder about 10 years ago so I rebuilt my entire brake system with new. The only reason I used Dot 5 was because it doesn't eat paint like Dot 3 does. I have not had any problems with its performance. All my daily drivers are using Dot 3. No problems, except that brake lines rust out due to our dirt road and the calcium chloride for dust control.
