Door is original, inspection panel is PPG DBU 27467, chip is submitted by another bolter.
And you are 100% correct Carl. It depends on where the light is coming from, depends
on where the panel is in the truck and what sort of environment it was exposed to and
then there is time and the fact that it was exposed to the air we breathe which is 21%
oxygen. Being exposed to air and never having been protected by wax, which 99% of
these trucks never saw inside the cab. You could box one of these trucks up when it
was brand new and 65 years later take it out of the box and the paint would have faded
and changed color from the original simply from age and oxidation.
Bottom line is, there is absolutely no way of telling what the original paint tint was even if
it was kept in a garage and never driven it’s whole life so find something that looks close
and go with it.
