I've seen 6v and 12v 'rebuilt' generators range from free(not needed by owner) to $150 the past few months.
Parts + labor charge will have you very close to $100 on rebuilding yours, with several variables taking the price either way.
Also, I'm not sure what the inflation rate is up there, but that might be a steal of a deal in NYC!
