My Pertronixs catalog shows Studebakers came with Delco, Autolite, or Prestolite distributors. If you contacted them with your distributor number I'd be surprised if they don't have a conversion for your unit. I made an HEI for my straight 8 Buick by using an Olds V8 that was turned down 0.060 where it fits into the block (length inside the block same as Buick dizzy) and replacing the Olds shaft with a longer Chevy shaft which was cut to length and had the oil pump drive tang milled on the end. We have a lap of the U.S. planned this summer in our old 1937 Special if gas stays down and the ONLY reason I chose HEI over Pertronix is we can stop at any parts store if needed.
