Thanks all for the great ideas. I'd been looking for a Chevrolet dash decal with no luck and hadn't thought about a grille backing. Very cool. Didn't know I could take the brass plug out to lube speedo so this seems worth trying. My cable is fairly new so I wouldn't think it would be too worn but maybe the inside of the speedo is. What's a few more hours upside down under the dash.
