Thanks...I also noticed that the PO removed the heat riser and spring and welded up the holes...why? Jerry I may go your route. I had no idea that the manifold was separated inside thanks two tone. Yep...I would like to replace the manifold but the thought of snapping off bolts sucks. The old glass packs are about dead they must be sucking in air. I changed the spark plugs .060 gap for the HEI and adjusted the air/fuel on the Rodchester B all by use of vacumme gauge. But I still get the deceleration pops, snaps, and rumble my wife hates the noise. I check for leakage with carb cleaner and propane no manifold leaks and the vacume is steady at 20 timing and 17 for air fuel....it's got to be the pipes.
