It might be a simple case of adding a vent tube inside the fuel filler tube. If the rubber hose works then I might be tempted to make a metal fuel line to make it more permanent. Don't push the vent tube too far into the tank. just about to the "full" level shpuld work. Good luck and let us know how you get on with it.
