I am doing mine piece by piece because I think the finished product will look a lot better. Some base coats (I'm using Dupont's ChromaColor ColorMaker) can be mixed ahead of time and used whenever because supposedly it has an infinite shelf life if sealed properly. That is nice because you don't waste what you don't use. The one thing I am finding is that I am going through a LOT of clearcoat. Clearcoat, with its' hardener is not cheap ($100/gal plus) and of course, everything needs at least 3 coats of clear. And then there's a risk of chipping stuff upon assembly. No doubt, a lot more work but it sure looks a LOT better!
