I learned some really tough lessons doing that. Paint can take longer than you think to cure. The brand, temp, gun used, and so forth can make a HUGE difference in curing time. To wrap up a fender with soft paint in a blanket and storing it may leave you with a BIG surprise when unwrapping it!
I like to hang it on the wall or set it somewhere on it's back where it is safe. The attic is a good place around my home. Hanging it in a shed or place where there is no other painting going on is the best.
