You might want to check the pushrod adjustment in the Master cylinder. It sounds like the fluid may not be returning fully when you release the brake pedal. Also make sure you have the rear brakes adjusted correctly. If the disc brakes are not releasing fully, driving and applying brakes will heat them up to the point they will freeze on you.
