Ok. Thanks guys. I heard that if you put 12v to a 6v dist, that the points will arc more and result in a shorter life expectancy. Is this true? The '53 half ton that this distributor is going in will be 12v. I think I am going to use an internal resistor coil to knock the voltage down from 12 to 6v, rather than the firewall mounted resistor. Any opinions/input about this would be appreciated.
