The 49 was a California truck which was in very good shape.
Exterior and interior are going to be pretty much the original stock look - don't need to mess with Chevy's great design.
The truck did not have the original 216 so I am doing somewhat of a "retro" rod. I built a 235 with increased compression, new cam, offy intake, and split cast iron headers. My father and I just installed the engine onto the frame last week.
The only changes to the chassis are that I installed monoleaf springs to drop the truck about 3 inches. I kept the original springs in case someone wants to re-install someday.
All of the sheet metal was acid dipped and E-coated. The frame has been media blasted and powder coated. I have also powdercoated almost every other part on the truck.
Hope to have it on the road sometime in summer. Would like to take it to the Symco Shakedown.
