Make sure you have enough threads going into the lug nut. I have a set of aluminum slots and I lost about 1/8" of the threads. To correct this problem, you can install longer studs but that would be a lot of work. Instead, I bought extended thread lug nuts. They have a short bit of extra threads below the 60 degree taper that extend towards the drum.
