I have a 1965 C10 and I parted out a 1966 C10. Both had brackets like you describe. I don't think that there is anything but a bolt through the bracket and alternator. It is meant to pivot on the bracket but once locked in place, it stays in that position and really should not move. If yours is different, then you could just use metal tubing inside the loose piece to create a bushing.
I suspect that it will not be needed.
