| | | | Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 20 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 20 | I have a 235 that I am planning to power with the 6 volt system that came on the 216 it's replacing in my '39. The 235 distributor came with a 12 volt Pertronix ignitor in it. I will be using the original 6 volt coil off the 216. I thought the Pertronix was just a fancy proximity sensor telling the coil to discharge its boosted 6 volt punch. I guess what I'm asking is, what's in those things that makes them not operate at a lower voltage? I'm wondering why it wouldn't still sense the lobes on the distributor. Anybody? | | |
