Here's what I used,a 3rd light 'pirated' from a Nissan Micra,there are many others suitable for this too.

I masked off the glass and used glass primer (used in bonding glass to bodywork.)
I then attached it using 3M double sided tape.

Fixing it to the glass avoided any metal surgery and being L.E.D. should last a while too,if in the event it fails i'll just get another.
Cheap,effective,nice and bright and gets the job done.
