The spring that provides tension to the accelerator pedal appears to hook to the lip of the oil pan beneath it.
Is there a little tang/tab for properly attaching that spring to the oil pan?
Maybe something that uses one of the oil pan bolts to hold it in place? I don't recall seeing anything when I took the old motor out but after 60 years who knows what had been done to the old gal.
