As most everyone's experience with these products (aerosol primers) have shown over the years, the fuzzy coat syndrome is about all that can be said about them favorably.
To answer the question, there is a line of good automotively oriented "aerosol" products on the market by U-POL out of, I think, the UK that are quite good and may be an answer to your quandry. Your local paint jobbers should have the selection.
