clhaney, I'd say $900 would be a great buy if I knew all the details of the rebuild & it was a complete rebuild. The word "rebuild" means a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
The $600 Bald Eagle quotes would be a lot better with your unknowns, though I may be missing something there...?(edit- I see he broke the cost down)
I'd be happier putting $900 worth of gas in the engine I already had, either way.
