I normally use Dupont final clean and or enamel lacquer thinner.
But what you can do is first wash the area with HOT water and dish washer soap. anytime you do body work that area should always be washed that way before sandding or you will inbed and wax or grease into the paint primmer and even metal.
Then dry with compressed air or new white cotton towels. Then before paint either use lacquer thinner or alcohol. You want to use Blue tork towels wipe it on really wet then with another towel wipe it off. And you should be ready for paint.
