Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the 36th annual Antique Auto Parts Swaper in San Diego. Six hours of walking and gauking. Anyways, one of the vendors sold, what appeared to be, every chrome looking part for every car/truck ever made. I asked him the same question also. And Spanky, you appear to be right on the money. There are 3. I have a 52', and I really thought that the one I pulled off was a chepo repo. But I really think it's a stainless pressed plate with severly rusting floating clips (4) on back. But, you know what, I like the pot metal best! More heavy duty. Built to last. I think i'll keep the 'un-original' on the truck.
