I am talking to one of my engineer buddies and he tells me he thinks he really screwed up when washing his truck the other weekend. In his efforts to get road tar off, he found that an abrasive sponge worked pretty good. He also found when the truck dried that the paint looked pretty hazy in all the areas he had scrubbed down. He put on a couple of coats of wax afterward and rubbed it out till the cows came home, but it still looks like carp. It is a metalic gold color with a clear coat - late model Toyota Tacoma. My guess is that he rubbed through the clear coat . . . anything he can do to bring it back short of a repaint?
