Funny you should ask. I decided to cut the tailpipe and muffler off this morning in order to get ready for when I install the headers and Purple Horny glasspacks. (And to irritate my neighbors.) I had to get in and sit on that plastic seat. Compared to a Lexxus with the heated leather memory seats it felt like a...well...a plastic table.
Not comfy at all.
The real joke came when I cut the tailpipe out. I just laid my Sawzall on it and started wailin away...and it was out in just a coupla minits. Problem? No muffler. None at all. I fired it up and it's a wee bit louder than it was, but I don't think there's enough compression in that sucker to violate the law, even with straight pipes! I guess a rebuild is in order down the road.
