For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 293 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2013 Posts: 293 | Hi Kent; I saw on here someone mentioned removing the existing tubes and using new 16" tubes with your original 17" split rims then using modern 17" radials. I'm also finding it is difficult to locate a narrower wheel/tire with rim offset to clear the rear inner fender wall. I have tried using 16" wheels and tires off a 1992 Dodge 2500 that clear the front tie rod ends and rear inner fender wells but I don't really want to go the 16" route as my top speed will drop even more than it all ready is. All though I could just change to 4:11 gears but I would like to keep as original as possible. | | |
