I am trying to help a fellow collector from the Czeck Republic identify what I think is a 194 or 207 engine. Language is an issue so I am looking for visual identification.

Engine is dressed with a 216 valve cover. It has an updraft intake manifold. The dizzy location has no pad for a serial number. The crankcase ventilator hole is on the carburator side. On the carb side you can actually see the curve of each cylinder in the casting as oppose to the smooth side of a 235. Bellhousing is slightly different with engine mounts on the front face of the housing.

Cast in the block... a few inches and below the dizzy is

GM
G 9 5 ( July 9th 1935 ??)
887591 - 8
correction 837591.....

Is there a web site where one can see pictures of the various Chev 6 of that period.

I am still trying to download the pictures he sent me but they seem to be protected by the posting site.
