It's not a plastic coating, so you don't have to
worry about it lifting. I'm not sure of the
chemical makeup of it, but the colored powder
is baked on the metal and fuses to it. You
will have to grind the small area that you want
to run your ground to. You won't need an area
larger than quarter, nothing to worry about.
