I had a full pressure 235 completely redone, hot tanked, new cam/bearings lifters, valves, seats, timing gears, oil pump, pistons, rings, main and rod bearings, and all of the machine work for $2300 parts and labor. I assembled the engine myself. I had a few issues and the machine shop was very helpful in solving them. Pick your machine shop carefully. Just remember that a busy shop is busy for a reason. They very likely take care of their customers, and get a lot of good word of mouth, and return business.
