Hello...
In my never ending quest to acquire more toys/projects than I know what to do with, I have stumbled across a solid cab off of a 48 Chevy. Now, I realize that what I'm asking goes against the standard of 'restore it back to original', but since I don't have a frame, etc for this body, I thought maybe it was time to do some "updating" and have a little fun in the process.

My question is simple, but the answers probably aren't. Is it easy (or relatively easy) to take the 48 1/2 ton cab/fenders/etc and bolt them to a late-model frame (say... '73 and newer)? I'd like to take advantage of the newer suspensions, brake and engine options available, but still keep the look and fun factor of driving an old truck... besides, this body is too good to just let rust away out in the barn. What would be necessary to do this swap? How much fabrication, if any, will I have to do?

If it looks like it's going to be more trouble than it's worth, I might pass on this project, but if not... then I've got a lot of work ahead of me and a few months of warm weather to get started.

Thanks!
Chris
