can't help w/ the paint code, but the color of the firewall will be it unless it's had a super complete repaint -

here [57] that'll give you an idea
the V on the vin indicates it had the 265 V8 [only V8 in 56, modified to the 283 in 57] and standard trans would have been a 4spd, tho the 3spd was an option [neither indicated in vin], and the floor pan doesn't necessarily have to be original - if it has any of the column shift stuff [holes up where the shift lever mounts, shift box towards the bottom of the column, used lookin hole in the column-floor seal] there was a 3spd in it
