For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 291 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 291 | I am preparing my 55 engine I just bought from a fellow stovebolter. I'm trying to get a new rear main seal in this 235 without taking the entire bottom end apart. I can't find the neoprene half moon style gasket that is the more modern style but I found a "sneaky Pete " tool to use to install the old style seal but once I hook the gasket in the tool, it won't go in the groove. Only the clip on the tool enters the groove then stops and won't budge. I walked away yesterday discouraged. Anyone know a source for the newer style seal that will be easier to install? Or any other helpful advice is appreciated? | | |
