I was thinking of replacing the dash in my 1953 1/2 ton. The center section where the radio and grill are, has been bent in at some time. Someone has tried straightening it, but it is still rather wavy and wrinkled as such. I have an original radio I wish to install in the truck and I doubt it will line up right as the dash is now. I removed a dash from another truck that was decent. No cutouts around the radio knob opening and it is nice and straight.
I seen in another post where it was mention that this was done and that he'd never do it again.... I haven't removed the rubber and windshield yet. I assume there are hundreds of spot welds between the dash and the lower windshield lip?
