if the taillights have two wire, the bulbs are mostly likely two-filament.
One wire is for the brake light/turn signal (brighter of the two filaments), and one wire is for the taillight (dimmer of the filaments (if the above is true). You wont hurt anything if you hook a wire from the brake/turn signal, and one wire to the taillights. If they're hooked up backwards, you just wont get the noticeable difference in brightness between the brake and turn signal. if that's the case, just switch the wires around
