Yep Denny, so far my painted running boards are holding up just fine. I don't like the look of the step plates and have heard it causes corrosion. Not to mention the holes that have to be drilled into the running boards that I spent weeks restoring. If mine get scuffed too badly over time, it would be quick and simple task to lay down a new coat of shiny black paint.
I try not to pivot my foot on the running board getting in and out of the cab.
