After painting many many fiberglass boats & jet skis, we have had the best luck with using paints with a flex agent. Fiberglass expands & contracts way more than steel. If you put a hard catalyzed paint [ without a flex agent ] on a material that expands & contracts like fiberglass does you will get lifting & cracks.
Epoxy paint has a unique property of being more brittle than lacquer or enamel
The same applies for paint on AD steering wheels.
We like to use the " House of colors " line of paints.
