Yup. Are you using just rattle can or a 2 part mix up primer in a gun? It also depends on what kind of top coat you are going to put on. Some people sez all primers compatible with all paint, but, in my experience, taint the case. I have had problems with paint lifting on rattle can primer.
If you are using rattle can - I like the DuplColor products as they have a fan spray head and you can almost lay the paint on as good as a gun.
