yes Jamie, it's not GM documented but starting with the 55 2nd series, the vehicle body 'vin' was stamped on the frame as a theft detector, the 'non-matching' part is that the initial series designator was left off, for yours that would be the '3A', the rest, year, plant, and unit sequence number will "match"
