For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2014 Posts: 44 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2014 Posts: 44 | Yeah, I did not buy this truck to hotrod. I already have a couple of those. "I don't know why I am in a hurry to get things done, I rush and rush until life's. No fun". I need to adjust my attitude on this project. I will now circle back and try to get the original 216 rebuilt. It was never frozen but I removed at least an inch of rusty sludge from the crankcase. I checked a couple of rod bearing and all had Babbitt missing. Some as much as a half inch. The only thing about the compression test was that it was a consistent 30-40 pounds. I will take the head to the machine shop and see if it can be rebuilt and go from there. Thanks, I needed that! | | |
