Most likely you had a vacuum leak on the side of the insulator that did not have a gasket, usually the bottom of the insulator. A gasket on both sides of the insulator would most likely eliminate a vacuum leak. Also, the gasket between the insulator and the carburetor should have little "cut-outs" that must be aligned with a hole in the base of the carburetor. | | |
