I know virtually zero about paint and painting and even less about prep work. Myabe someday when I'm retired and have the time I will think about making my baby into a show truck, but for right now I just want to make her a sharp looking daily driver. I have the bed wood stripped off right now and noticed there is a lot of surface rust on the bed frame and in some places there are some pretty large chunks of 'flake' that need to be chipped off. I've been wire brushing and chipping away at it and painting it with OSPHO. I'm thinking for now I will just use some farm implement paint on the bed frame. I've known some cat skinners that used it on their equipment and they didn't prep anything, just sprayed it right over the sand, mud, pitch, dead bugs, whatever happened to be there and it lasted for years. I'll do a little more prepping than that, but I don't have the luxury of time to do much. Any of you have any thoughts/experience with this stuff? :confused:
