You could have them on backwards , It will make a big difference ..
Good point,glasspacks by nature only work correctly in one direction.
We used to deliberately fit them 'back to front' in turbocharged VW bugs,it helped airflow but didn't do a lot to reduce sound levels,freed up a few extra HP though.
