My little Lincoln Weld-Pac works fine for most light stuff. Don't get my model though. You can't put a stitch timer on it, which comes in handy doing body work. The Model 10 and 15 come with this capability though. If I was you, I'd get a machine that has 20-25 amps capability. Hobart usually makes pretty good equipment. Have you checked out the TIP website? Their welders are set up for doing bodywork - although they are unusually proud of their equipment. They could probably cut their prices in half and still not lose money selling them.
