I was under the '46 2 Ton doing a chassis grease & general inspection and had an opportunity to closely examine the battery box. The box is under the passenger floorboard and is more an arrangement of heavy steel flatbars than an actual box. There is an access panel in the floorboard but it's just barely large enough to access the cell caps; nowhere near big enough to lift the battery out through.
A few of the flatbars comprising the battery box have carriage bolts but only on one end. For that matter all but one carriage bolt have their heads inside against the battery so I can get the nuts off but I can't get the bolts out.
How, exactly, is one supposed to get the battery out of this thing? I'm sure it's something simple I'm overlooking but I'd better figure it out before it's time to replace.
