dimmer won't affect park lites, and the switch doesn't care if you use 6 or 12V on it, but the repro switches aren't the best quality nowadays so I'd suspect it, but using a meter to find out where the voltage disappears would be better than just throwing money at the problem, could just be a loose connection at the switch
