Did you try to adjust it with the hinge springs on? It can be easier to do with the springs removed (another problem can stem from putting the hinges on the wrong sides, someone told me). Did you put a 4X4 between the end of the hood and the top of hood latch? The factory manual will get you where you want to be if you carefully follow the directions. I struggled with following the directions my first time, but I finally figured out what they were trying to tell me. One tip. Leave the bolts very loose on the hood latch! The Manual tells you that if you don't, you will not be able to open the hood, without telling you what to do if this happens! I guess you are supposed to go to the dealer and buy a new truck. Or in your case, drive one of your many other classic trucks. You hoarder. smile
