What I did was have leaf springs rebuilt (you don't want to run a worn out main leaf) then removed a couple leaves, ended up with springs that were almost flat with full weight on front. You don't want springs going beyond flat. Then I went with a 2" dropped axle, don't know who can supply these today. Then the tie rod doesn't clear the leaf springs so needed to heat and bend steering arms down a bit to clear (btw have a pro do the heat/bending). Also went with modern tie rod & ends for more clearance at the wheels. Then BUMP STEER, so we bent the steering arm so that drag link is level with the ground.
That's about it, add some big and little tires and will look like an old timey rod. Best of luck
