Whenever this topic comes up, I think about what tools and parts do I make sure to pack when I drive on long trips in the vehicle which my wife made me buy, one which I have no idea how to troubleshoot. I don't bring anything but basic tools, and supplies and gear to survive the elements should it break down. The wife also made me buy AAA against my will. Not a bad idea, that one.
