Just curious, but will the w-1 work on a 54, 235 with an 848 Head? I need a carb for this upgrade, can't find a reasonable yf and I don't want a rochester B. My guess is it will run, if I can get one to fit the manifold but may not be optimal for the engine.
The W-1 is an S.A.E. size 2 carb. The manifold for a 1954 235 would be drilled for an S.A.E. size 3 carb.
Options:
(A) use an adapter (opinion - looks hokey, but will work)
(B) slot the carb mounting holes (opinion - same as above)
(C) fill the manifold mounting holes, and redrill for size 2.
