Looks like the A833 aluminum case that comes with overdrive is going to carry the day. Only one I can find that is still plentiful enough that real tranny guys are still rebuilding them and therefore don't cost an arm and 2 legs. The online speed shops carry the tremec's w/OD and a high gear less than 1:1, but they are almost as much as the engine. Interesting that MOPAR built it for Chevy's. In addition to wide variety of Chrysler vehicles, apparently it was the manual option GM offered instead of the 700R4 in mid/late 80's 1/2 ton trucks. I'm feeling a little bit like Deve here, swimming upstream against the masses that are going with the 700R4's but that's what we're going to do. Thanks Bill and all for the great input.
