Rescued another one. Has one bad cylinder wall (#4) pitted with rust in the top 30%....but it turns.

I think I have most of the information sorted out but would like confirmation and some explanation for strange mix of parts.... price was right..free.

Rescued as a 1953 low oil pressure.

Numbers show differently..
Block casting # 3692713....1952
Head casting # 3835909...again 52
casting code inside the valve cover...which I may have miss read C164 .. which I decode as March 16 1954....??? doesn't fit 1952??

Block as the low pressure oil cover on the carb side of the block..... but has a short side valve cover...... the top valve cover is the two acorn front vent as per Pre-68Dave info.

When did they start changing from the tall side cover to the short one...??

Serial # by the dizzy is Y24340 which I read as intended in a previous life for a powerglide although it is currently bolted to a 3 speed tranny.

Thanks for the great education in 6 cyl. philosophy!!!
